As a passionate graphic designer with curiosity for exploration and innovation, this year has been such a fun journey of creativity and discovery. Embracing the joy of hands-on craftsmanship and the thrill of experimenting with new mediums has definitely been a highlight this year. I take so much joy in diving deeply in each project to uncover its purpose and significance. Every aspect of my work carries personal meaning, down to the smallest details like the delicate pink thread sewn into my jean pieces—a precious memento passed down from my great-grandfather, who once owned a quaint store in my beloved hometown of St. Alphonse. These connections to my roots infuse my designs with a unique blend of nostalgia, passion, and authenticity, making each piece a testament to my journey and experiences.
Zach Bryan is one of my favourite country artists, so when the chance arose to learn from an experienced album designer, I couldn't resist reimagining his work! During my research, I noticed that most of Zach's albums feature photographs, sparking the idea of bringing a fresh perspective through illustration.
Lairia, comes from the Art Deco word Talairia, (in Roman mythology) winged sandals worn by certain gods and goddesses, especially Mercury. I loved the sound and feel of this word but it didn’t quite make sense to name my font after a pair of sandals.
My font serves a highly specific purpose. As I venture into crafting my own cowboy boot brand, meticulously designing the distinctive style of boots and packaging, a custom font would truly tie everything together, making this brand uniquely mine.
Let’s create something extraordinary together! Reach out and let’s turn your ideas into stunning designs.
